Mission

FYI Purgolders Mission: an equitable sports-based youth development program that develops character, confidence, and coachable qualities to empower youth to lead in our community.

FYI Purgolders provides opportunities for 3rd -8th grade youth to participate in team sports. FYI Littles provides opportunities for our youngest players (4K-2nd grade) to learn athletic skills, with a focus on fun and balanced play for all participants.

Scholarships are available for all programs to help with season fees.

  • Equitable Opportunities – We meet youth where they are in terms of skill level and needs; we provide scholarships to reduce season fees.
  • Positive Youth Development We believe competitive teams can be built by focusing on development. In addition to athletics, participants learn about expectations of student-athletes in high school, build leadership and communication skills, and participate in field trips and community service activities.
  • A Feeder Program FYI Purgolders connects community and school systems.
FYI Purgolders is a program of the Fit Youth Initiative (FYI).
FYI is a community center collaboration aimed at bettering the nutrition and health of youth through fitness programs and nutrition education. FYI is at four partner sites: East Madison Community Center, Goodman Community Center, Kennedy Heights Community Center, and Vera Court Neighborhood Center. FYI aims to increase the level of activity and the consumption of healthy foods by offering consistent, intentional, evidence-based fitness and nutrition programming for children ages 3-18 and their families.

FYI Purgolders will…

Be Coachable!    Have Character!    Be Confident!    Make Connections!
